It has been awhile. Summer is going well so far. A lot of working (which I’m thankful to be able to say). I’m an IT assistant at the U for the summer and am hopefully continuing into the school year with less hours. Nice and nerdy. I’m a little nervous already for fall semester to start; 18 credits, a job, and an internship. Good luck, self.

4th of July was fun. Went to the Stone Arch Bridge with thousands of other people for the firework. It was my first 4th of July in Minneapolis. I took some lomos while I was there… leaving the shutter open for a few fireworks in a row in a couple of pictures, and taking multiple exposures of different fireworks in others. Hopefully they’ll turn out. I finished that roll of film the next day, so I should be getting it developed soon enough. I took a roll in B&W before this roll (a color one). It was a left over one that I received when I purchased some photo paper for a high school photography class. I have to have it developed professionally, and to have the negatives scanned onto a disk it will end up costing a decent amount. So I’m going to hold off on that for a little while. I bought new/old film the other day too. 5 rolls of expired, super cheap sounding film. I believe it is called Klick Max. That will be interesting.

On the reading front. I’ve tried to get into Catch 22, but I’m just not in the mood right now. Maybe in winter. Same goes for Smilla’s Sense of Snow. I’ve read about the first 50 or so pages in Danish in an easier version of that book, and I know it isn’t very uplifting. Willie has bought me two issues of a magazine titled Dwell to help satisfy my never ending interest in design ideas. The magazine focuses on modern living, and in these two issues: living in small spaces, and working with local materials to fit with the natural and cultural environment.

Tonight Willie and I are going to go see a play at the Guthrie (for free! just one perk of dating a handsome Barnes & Noble employee). It is called “When We Are Married”. I read the synopsis on their website, and it sounds fun.

That is all for now. Tschuss.
